We are the warrantor, for the whole term#

TrueTech Services Pvt. Ltd. provides the warranty on every machine sold here, for every day of its term. There is one warrantor and it is us.

Internally, part of a term may be backed by the supply point the machine came from and part funded by us. That split is ours to manage and it is deliberately not on your warranty record — there is no field on it naming a provider, because there is no circumstance in which you would need one. A claim in the first month and a claim in the last month go to the same place and are settled the same way. If we recover the cost from a supplier afterwards, that happens after you have your machine back.

How long#

The term on a machine is the greater of two figures: what its supply point backs plus the months we add on top, or the floor we sell regardless.

Our top-up
3 months
Minimum total term
6 months
The term you get
the greater of (supply point’s months + top-up) and the minimum

The floor is why a machine from a supply point that backs nothing is still covered. “We have not agreed a top-up here” is our problem and it never reaches you as “no warranty”. The exact term for a machine you own is on its record in your account, as one number, with the dates it runs between.

When it starts#

Cover begins on the day the machine is delivered to you, reckoned on the Indian calendar — not when you paid, and not when it left the supply point. A term that ran while the laptop was on a lorry would be a term we sold you and did not give you. Whether a machine is in warranty on a given day is decided by our server against that calendar, and your account shows the answer rather than asking your browser to work it out.

What is covered#

  • Any fault in the twelve areas we inspected, found within the term.
  • Repair, part replacement or a replacement machine — our choice, at our cost.
  • Collection from your site and return, both ways.

The twelve areas are the ones on the inspection report for that serial, which you can open from the machine’s record. A warranty that covered fewer things than we measured would be an odd document.

What is not covered#

  • Accidental damage, liquid ingress and cosmetic wear after delivery.
  • Consumables, and software you installed.
  • A machine opened or repaired by anyone else — this breaks the seal we applied.

Making a claim#

  • Raise it from the machine’s record in your account. You need the serial, a description of the fault, and a site for collection.
  • A claim is checked against the original inspection report for that serial. A fault in an area we measured as good is not automatically refused — the divergence is looked at, because our measurement can be the thing that was wrong.
  • A refusal always names the finding it contradicts. We do not decline a claim without saying what it is we are relying on.
  • A machine that is out of warranty is told so with the exact expiry date, and offered paid repair instead of simply being turned away.
